Semi Final 9th March

Semi-Final

Edithvale 79 (B Morton 29-16, A Cousens 17-12, G Bourne 17-21, P Woodbridge 16-24) defeated Carrum 73

On Saturday, the first side travelled down to Carrum to face breezes from the beach and a slick synthetic, and came home with a 6 shot win. We knew that we matched up well against Carrum, having defeated them down there in November. We trailled by 4 shots at the break, and the main scoreboard see-sawed to and fro until we gained control of the match in the closing ends. Billy Morton’s four were the stand-out team, picking up six 3s and four 2s in a huge 13 shot victory. They were well supported by Alan Cousens’ team, who jumped out to a 13-6 lead mid-match and finished 5 shots up. Greg Bourne’s crew were in trouble at 7-13, but worked their way back into the match for a 4 shot loss, while Peter Woodbridge’s four were struggling at 7-15, before stabilising for an 8 shot loss. This win gave us the right to play good friends (and arch enemies) Keysborough in the Grand Final on Sunday.
