NIGHT PENNANT REPORT – TUESDAY 8th DEC 2020

Both teams again played away, Division 3 at Noble Park and Division 4 at Keysborough.  The Club had a win and a loss.  The weather in the morning and early afternoon was cold and wet, but as the day progressed the skies cleared and the weather fined up with not a single breath of wind at the start of play, so vastly different to last week.  I must admit it was much more enjoyable playing on Tuesday night this week.

Our Division 3 side played Noble Park and after all checking in and getting organized with rinks and cards the game began.  Alan, Andrew T, Sally & Rod had a great game winning 12 ends with 7 multiples, two 4’s, one 3 and four 2’s. They had a brain faze on end 8,9 & 10 when the opposition scored a 4,5 and 1.  They gave themselves a good talking to and sealed the win with a ‘4’ on the last end and a 12-shot win.  Bobby, Jim, Shellie & Craig (still with the Cool Shades) had another cracker of a game with great bowling by the team.  This rink won 12 ends with 10 multiples including two 4’s, one 3, and seven 2’s.  They started well winning the first two ends with two 4’s and they then zoomed ahead winning by 20 shots. Peter, Diane, Kaye, Colin won 8 ends on the night including three 3’s and one 2.  All tried hard with the opposition skip providing plenty of entertainment with a lot of over acting (I’m sure he was aiming to win an Oscar or a Logie).  This rink went down by 1 shot, but an overall win to Edithvale won by 31 shots

ALAN 24 – 12                       BOBBY 27 – 7                       PETER 15 – 16

EDITHVALE  66                   NOBLE PARK 35

Our Division 4 side played Keysborough and just went down by 2 shots.  Margaret, Marika, Jenni, and Ian had another draw this week.  They took five ends to get on the score board and then with some great bowling they won six ends in a row scoring a 4 and a 3 and two 2’s.  They managed to hit the front on the 15th end.  They lost the 16th end and won the last end to finish up a draw.  Ray, Andrew B, Neville and Janienne had a close game up to the 12th end.  Then the opposition jumped ahead with five multiples. Our team tried to reduce the gap but went down by 13 shots.  Ann, Helen, Barb, Danny, won 12 ends with four 3’s.  They were in front all night and the opposition tried to get in front, but our players bowled well all night.  Many thanks to Janienne for again filling in at the last minute.

ANN 20 – 9               MARGARET 20 – 20                       RAY 9 – 22

                                    EDITHVALE 49        KEYSBOROUGH 51

Best wishes to Stephen and Craig for a speedy recovery.  Hope to see you both back on the green after Christmas.  Next week both teams will be playing at home.
