WINTER BOWLS TOURNAMENT – Final Round

Today was the last day of a rather long 4 week tournament which started way back on Saturday 15th may 2021 and finished on 3rd July.  After a brilliant week of weather with social games played on Wednesday and Friday without a drop of rain, I was concerned that the good weather may not continue, but it did.  Lots of sunshine but it was bitterly cold outside.  First game got under way and there were some big scores from some players, which made it very interesting coming into the last game.  The second game finished and while Glenys and myself collated the scores, our players tucked into a sausage in bread, cooked up by John Lyons and served up by Rod Cameron.

Todays winners were – Andrew Benson (40 shots) and Heather Redpath (37 shots)

We had some raffle prizes donated today with all players put into the draw.  Meat Tray (donated by Chelsea Meats) won by Andrew Tyrrell, Fruit &Veg box (donated by Aspendale Gardens Fruit & Veg) won by Shellie Kavanagh.  We also had $10 vouchers from The Edithvale General Store, Sensey Products from Glenys Gionis and other assorted prizes from members.

Now for the Tournament top  six places:

1st Jan Collins (106), 2nd Claire Baskett (97), 3rd Heather Redpath (95), 4th Glen Baskett (92), 5th Garry Byers, 6th Gail Hamilton.

Many thanks to our subs for the day, Mary Weston, Rod Cameron and Ray Weston, thanks to Glenys for running match and a big thanks to all players that participated and helped pack up and clean up and the end of the day.

Next tournament starts Sat 17th July, only 4 spots left.
