Rakali Match Report for Tuesday 18/2 by Kaye

On February 18th, the Swap Rats ventured far from home to take on Mt Waverley Bowls Club.

Our team on rink 10—Paul, myself, Don, and Robbie—put up a determined fight, winning six ends out of 17. We got on the board early with a single shot on the second end, followed by a strong three on the fifth. A couple of twos kept us in the game, and we finished with a flourish, securing a five on the final end. While the final score stood at Edithvale 14 to Mt Waverley 18, the team showed resilience and great camaraderie throughout. We’ll take the lessons from this match forward and come back even stronger next time!

Rink 11 – A Hard-Fought Victory!

Chris, Adam, Glenis, and Sally found themselves in a tight battle, with both teams locked at 8 apiece by the 12th end. But Edithvale dug deep, showing true grit to claim five crucial shots over the next five ends. The final score: Edithvale 13 to Mt Waverley 12. WHAT A FIGHT! Congratulations on a well-earned win!

Rink 12 – A Nail-Biter Until the End!

Wayne, Anne, Ross, and Ray also had a tense contest on their hands. With both teams level at 2-all on the third end, Edithvale took control, scoring on every end from the 4th to the 10th. However, a late push from Mt Waverley saw them edge ahead by just two shots overall. Final score: Edithvale 13 to Mt Waverley 15. A fantastic effort from the team!

Final Overall Scores Edithvale 40 to Mt Waverly 45

Plenty of positives to take from these matches—onward and upward for the Swap Rats!
Next week Rakali take on Ladder Leaders Mordialloc at Edithvale.  Currently out of the final four by 6 points, they need the win.
