Weekend Pennant Practice Match
After the Christmas/New Year break there are only 5 matches left in the Pennant season. We have started the season really well, and to make sure that we are ‘match-fit” to resume we will be holding a practice match on Saturday, January 11 ( one week before the re-start on January 18). The day will commence with a 10:45 am roll-up, and the match will start at 11:00 am. The format for the day will be dependant on the number of bowlers taking part. There will be no charge for green fees; BYO lunch, and wear your club uniform.
There is a sign-up sheet on the Weekend Pennant notice-board, so please make sure you put your name down

Edithvale 1 and 2 showed their class with hard fought wins. Edithvale 3 battled gamely to get within 6 shots of Brighton Beach, while Edithvale 4 struggled against a superior Beaumaris side. Even so, our thanks go to Leon Smith, Norm Lewis, Rae Gibbs, and Adam Gallagher for stepping in to fill the void created by our extended sick-list.

Results of Round 7 of Weekend Pennant
A mixed day of fortunes. Edithvale 3 persisted during very difficult conditions to register a very strong victory. Edithvale 1 couldn’t contain a rampant Pakenham and went down by 29 shots; Peter Woodbridge’s rink being the only one to win. Edithvale 2 and 4 both had their matches washed out, sharing the points for each match.
Diane Cameron’s rink of Rosemary Grace, Sally King and Stephen Pearson was the Rink of the Day with plus 15 shots.
Results of Round 6 of Weekend Pennant
What a chaotic day. Two matches abandoned due to heat , and another stopped at 6 pm after numerous delays. Edithvale 1 and 2 had their matches abandoned after the lunch break. Edithvale 3 had a particularly frustrating day, with numerous delays due to the heat. That side came within 3 shots of a win, and must be congratulated on showing such resilience under very trying conditions. Also, well done to the Edithvale 4 players who braved the conditions to put in a solid practice session.
