NIGHT PENNANT REPORT

For Tuesday 2nd April 2019

TUESDAY NIGHT PENNANT – SEMI FINAL

GREAT GAME GREAT BOWLS GREAT WIN

Our game tonight was played at Chelsea against Noble Park.  Before we arrived at Chelsea a player substitution was made and a couple of changes made.  Thanks to Doug for stepping in (always pay to have an emergency).  There was a feel of excitement in the air and some annoying small swarms of bugs.

By 7pm, rinks were allocated, players had done the introductions, bowls were ready to be played and the supported were seated and ready to watch an exciting game.

On rink 5 was Greg, Kaye, Doug and Pauline and they had a great start to the 17 ends to be played.  The opposition got a 4 on the 10th end and a 5 on the 13th end and our players couldn’t recover the big numbers.  This rink went down by 8 shots.

On rink 6 Alan, Diane, Glenys and Ann won 11 ends on the night.  After the 13th end they were up by 15 shots.  We seemed to take our foot off the accelerator and the opposition won 3 of the last 4 ends.  This rink won by 10 shots.

Rink number 7 with Bobby, Shellie, Sally and Craig were down by 8 shots on the 7th end, but they came charging home winning the last 6 ends with 5 multiples and a win by 7 shots.

We had an overall win of 9 shots.  There was great team spirit by our players and great support from members who came along to watch.  Thanks to Claire and Glen who bought a box of chocolates as reward for those that had a ‘toucher’ (Ann won the most with 6).  Also there supporting were Barb, Peter, Bill, Marg, Blake, Trish, Jim and Suzanne.  Also a big thankyou to Chelsea Bowls Club for supplying cheese and biscuits after the game and opening up the bar.

Next week the Grand Final will be played against St Kilda at Murrumbeena Park.

Final scores for the night – Greg 12-20Alan 20-10   Bobby 23-16
