WINTER BOWLS TOURNAMENT 14 May 2022

Tournament No.1 for 2022 started today under very cloudy conditions with a strong chance that rain could fall at any moment.  Players gathered inside for a quick briefing and then headed off to B green for the first game.  Game1 started at 10am and after 10 ends were played, the players came inside for a quick cuppa and a bite to eat. Scores after the first game were between 13 and 4.

The second game was interrupted by 15 minutes with the rain getting heavier.  Coats, beanies, umbrellas were the main attire of the day, but with a great deal of determination these 24 players got through both games by 1pm.

Today’s winner with 25-shots was Cheryl Plunkett.  There was a 3-way tie for runner up with 23-shots for the day, Peter Brain, Kingsley Ellis and Gail Hamilton

Many thanks to Claire Baskett, Mary Weston and Shellie Kavanagh for filling in today.  Also, thanks to Jan and Sally for helping to set up before the game, and to the players for helping to pack up at the end of the day.  A great team effort.
